Lira
Modern Usage
Remember 'lira' reflects present-day currency only in Turkey, so don't confuse it with past currencies.

The price tag said 20 lira, which I knew was the Turkish currency.
Plural Form
In English, 'lira' and 'liras' both work as plural, but 'lira' is more common referring to Turkish money.

She exchanged 100 dollars for 750 lira.
Not Interchangeable
'Lira' is specific to Turkey; don't use it for other currencies like 'Pound' or 'Euro'.

When in Istanbul, you'll need to use lira, not euros, for purchases.
